Yannick Albert is driven by a constant urge to experiment. Working in cycles, he creates raw, instinctive works in which volumes are deconstructed, materials manipulated and structures fragmented to open new perspectives. Inspiration comes from his childhood and the uninhibited way his early drawings and objects came into being. In his practice, he brings opposites together, harnessing the energy born from duality.
His series How does light remember reflects on light as a living being — every sparkle, shadow and reflection carrying memory and story. Light, to him, is also a symbol of clarity, hope and renewal. Every dawn is a promise; every new glow an act of resilience. This work is a poetic ode to our fundamental ability to dispel darkness
