Gille Delhaye

Gille Delhaye, an alumnus of the Ecole de Recherches Graphiques (ERG) in Brussels, has been active as a painter and visual artist for more than twenty years. Since 2018, he has been director of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Sambreville.

Delhaye’s work has its origins in his deep interest in architecture. The artworks by Gille that are part of the collection are imbued with a search for the interaction between form and color. In his geometric compositions, colors collide subtly, creating a dynamic tension that permeates the space. The works, made on wood, testify to a great precision and a high level of finish.
Although Delhaye’s works are small in size, they carry a remarkable intensity. His abstract and geometric approach seems understated at first glance, but the color contrasts reveal a deeper conflict and harmony. In his latest series, the artist makes optimal use of the limited space of the format, creating a delicate balance between restraint and elegance. This gives the works both visual density and solidity, lending them a timeless, almost classical appearance—in the noble sense of the word.
