The paintings of Nathalie Pirotte are playfully constructed. She gets her inspiration from all kinds of photos and personal experiences. The portraits she paints are sometimes slightly erotic, usually she portrays female figures with a mask of an animal head. Nathalie pays a lot of attention to the materials that the model is wearing, so she paints leather, lace, fur or other material in great detail. She paints thin layers on the canvas, the cold colors she uses contrast with the intense black paint and the masks.
