Walter Dermul is a self-taught artist. After a career in marketing communication, he got into a daily routine of exploring the ins and outs of oilpainting on canvas. Based on photos or images on news websites he portrays real people and their emotions. Through his subjects, he is focussing on the (in)ability to communicate with others, be it a partner, own children or all other people that are close.
