Lives and works in Ertvelde (BE)

Elke De Jaeger (b. 1976) has been passionate about creating art since childhood, often found with paintbrushes, scissors, and colored pencils in hand. From an early age, she recognized art as a way of life, a passion that only grew throughout her childhood and teenage years. After studying various techniques and becoming a high school art teacher over the past 25 years, she chose a career that blended both her love for art and education.

Covid pandemic crisis in 2020 gave her the unexpected opportunity and time to return to painting. Elke’s creativity flourished, leading to her first exhibition. Since then, she has participated in several regional expos and became one of the 20 finalists in the 2022 Painting of the Year competition (Netherlands), with her work showcased at Art Eindhoven in 2023.

Elke’s paintings are characterized by vibrant colors, bold patterns, and a touch of kitsch. Her work combines elements of realism and pop-art, often referencing vintage and retro aesthetics but with a great attention to detail. Experimenting with different techniques and materials, Elke continuously pushes the boundaries of both classical and modern styles, inviting viewers to explore the playful and original nature of her creations.
