Jean De Groote

Jean De Groote paints a "ding an sich". He talks about his own work: "When I paint, I try to discover the soul of an object, there is so little color, I want to get rid of color. If I paint a dying Lone wolf, I do not feel like color can make a difference. I refer to Malevich and his white cube. Whilst painting a white or black cube did not mean he did not make physical effort here. I used to dare to use color in my work, I was not attached to one particular style. I am formed as a graphic artist, but conceptual art is not strange to me. I will not rule out the fact that in the future there will be a lot of color in my work. " (source:
