The most important motif that Marena Seeling addresses in her paintings is the architecture of the landscape around her birthplace Weurt (NL). Not so much the beauty of the water, the meadows or the dikes and the long rows of gnarled trees. Above all, the space of an environment that was large and pure, but in which a bustling landscape has nestled in the untouched over the years. Seelings art is at its intersection, on the border where two worlds lose their identity.
