Matthias De Wolf graduated as a master in sculpture from Sint Lukas in Brussels. Shortly after his studies, he already made prototypes for various international clients and artists. More and more, he started to build his own sculptures and installations. Life-size sculptures come to live in clay, supplemented by ready-mades that the artist finds in thrift shops and on flea markets. These objects create a grim reality. Different media and working processes are investigated by the artist.
But the artist dismantles all his images and destroys each of his creations.
Do all his works disappear? Not exactly, each installation or sculpture is carefully and high tech scanned before destruction. The entire scene is given a new life as a 3D print.
